3(2x - 1) - 10 = 8 + 5x           
6x - 3 - 10 = 8 + 5x                   // Apply distributive property
6x - 13 = 8 + 5x                        // Combine like terms
x - 13  = 8                                 // Take away 5x from both sides
x = 21                                       // Add 13 to both sides
