Pelagic zone is an ecological realm that includes the open ocean. It has the largest volume and greatest vertical range of all the inhabited environment. It is further divided into regions depending on the depth. The regional and vertical distribution of organism depends on nutrients, oxygen, sunlight, temperature,salinity and pressure.
