Calcium bromide is an ionic compound (since the bonding is between a metal and a non-metal, where calcium is a metal and bromide is a non-metal) because it is a metal with a charge of +2. The compound can also be written as Br2Ca aswell, either one of them is right. The structure includes two molecules of bromine and one molecule of calcium. The properties of Calcium bromide are that it is soluble in water and is a pure substance.
