The fact that May 31 is a Wednesday is not as important as May 31 is Memorial Day (a federal holiday) and normally a paid holiday for full-time employees. The employees would still get paid on Friday, June 2; the question is whether they will get paid for a 5-day work week or a 4-day work week.
