(x - 2)(x + 8) = 0
x - 2 = 0 or x + 8 = 0
+ 2 + 2    - 8 - 8
   x = 2    x = -8

(x - 7)² = 0
√(x - 7)² = √(0)
x - 7 = 0
+ 7 + 7
   x = 7
