its important to add desighn and stuff, but only mainly because you dont want to have things pixelized and stuff like that, it helps the visual; effects run smoother and such
the human mind likes to look for patterns so when visual art has a design it is pleasing and is easy for our minds to grasp when it is a repeating pattern it often seems better as our mind becomes more familiar with it
