President Reagan was involved in Irangate or the Iran-Contra affair. The affair was a secret arrangement in the 1980s to provide funds to the Nicaraguan contra rebels from profits gained by selling arms to Iran. Hope this helped ! :) I'm not exactly sure if President Reagan actually got in trouble for this but it was definitely a scandal.
