cost baseball=$9 ----> given

Multiply the cost of baseball by 1 5/9

but first, convert mixed number to an improper fraction

1 5/9=1+5/9=14/9

so

$9*(14/9)=$14

Compare with the cost of the soccer ball

$14=$14 ----> is true
