The heat required to raise a certain mass of a substance at a temperature is calculated through the equation,
                                heat = mass x specific heat x (T₂ - T₁)
The specific heat of silver is 0.057 cal/g⁰C
Substituting the known values to the equation,
                             heat = (138.45 g)(0.057 cal/g⁰C)(162.5⁰C - 11.8⁰C)
                                 heat = 1189.27 cal
