Although constantly faced with racism and discrimination, Paul Laurence Dunbar grew up to become an inspiring poet. This man faced adversity and wrote about his experiences as insight so all could understand his journey . To this day, Dunbar’s work is widely recognized and quoted and he is seen as one of the first nationally acclaimed African American poets.
