The area of the square: [tex]A=a^2[/tex]

where "a" is a length of side.

Therefore:
[tex]A=225\ ft^2\ and\ A=a^2\Rightarrow a^2=225\Rightarrow a=\sqrt{225}\Rightarrow \boxed{a=15\ (ft)}[/tex]
