An advantage of collecting evidence in a natural setting rather than in a lab could be that the data collected will be more representative of nature and not an artificially constructed situation in a lab. Also evidence collected in a natural setting could give more insight into the functioning of nature in the natural environment in comparison to isolating certain variables or processes in a lab.
