1. 3x + 5 < 6

Subtract 5 to both sides to isolate x

3x < 1

Divide by 3 and flip the sign

x > 1/3

2. -2x + 9 > 3

subtract 9 to both sides

-2x > -6

Divide by - 2  and flip the sign

x < 3
