2x-4+50=100

2x-4=50

2x=54

x=27º

2x+4x=90

6x=90

x=15º

1. Simplify 100 = (2x - 4) + 50

x = 27

2. Complementary mean the angles equal 90 degrees when added, so

90  = 2x + 4x

x = 15
