Prepositions show all of the following types of relationships except tense. Only verbs and verbal forms can show tense, which has to do with an action being past, present, or future. However, prepositions can in fact show space (IN the house), time (AT 7 o'clock), and logic (the relationships between objects and things, for example - BETWEEN the two of them).
