to find the total value of what she spent, add 12.52 and 6.13. I generally add the whole number before the decimal:

12 + 6 = 18

.52 + .13 = .65

18 + .65 = 18.65

Adding separately before together helps take out confusion.

So let’s round 12.52 to 13 and 6.13 to 6

13+6=19

Anna spent about $19.
